Do you have any old gold jewellery that has sentimental value, perhaps passed down through the family, that you no longer wear? I can turn it into something new and unique in my studio. This way, you can preserve the memory while enjoying it in a form that suits you better. It's a sustainable process (no new gold mining is required) and it's often more economical, too.
I can make a ring from as little as 5 grams of old gold. Even with smaller amounts, there are still many possibilities, such as adding gold balls to a ring made of new gold. We will discuss your wishes and look at the options in my studio.
In order to use your gold, I will clean and test it to determine its purity. Then I melt it and work it into the desired shape, or make a wax model to cast. The alloy can also be adjusted: 18 carat yellow gold can be made into 14 carat gold, or vice versa (in which case extra gold is needed). Please note that some types of gold are not suitable for reuse, such as gold with a lot of soldering or white gold. I do not process old silver.
Using your gold reduces the price of the jewellery because I don't have to buy as much new gold. Processing your gold costs from €150. Design costs and the cost of making your jewellery are added to this. Gemstones from old jewellery can usually be reused too. The final price depends on the design and materials used.
Would you like to know what I could make from your old gold? Please contact me or arrange an appointment – I would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
