Big Dipper Necklace

This yellow gold necklace was made for the birth of Arthur, whose name means "bear" in ancient times. The seven bright stars of the Ursa Major constellation (the Big Dipper) are represented by diamonds on the necklace. The brightness of each star corresponds to the size of the stone. The astronomy student who lives in my home was very helpful in calculating this "relative brightness."
